For Vice President Vance, three theaters, one retreat

There is a coherent worldview behind the vice president’s foreign policy and that is exactly the problem. J.D. Vance does not stumble into the outcomes he produces. He believes in them. He sees a tripartite world with America secured in its own hemisphere, Russia dominant across its near abroad and China supreme in Asia. He appears willing to trade away 70 years of American primacy to build it. The retreat is the design.

Hardesty: School systems heading toward financial ‘rocks’

CHARLESTON – West Virginia has lost the enrollment equivalent of six full counties in a single year, a crisis that state Board of Education President Paul Hardesty warns will lead to financial disaster unless state leaders modernize the school aid formula.
In a conference call Wednesday morning, West Virginia Board of Education President Paul Hardesty said continuing declines in student enrollment, an antiquated school aid formula providing less funding to county school systems, and an increase

Despite almost an entirely new team, WVU women’s basketball is already ‘gelling’ this summer

MORGANTOWN — UCF senior transfer forward Khyala Ngodu had the reality dating show “Love Island” on her television the other night, but she wasn’t watching alone. The rest of the West Virginia women’s basketball team was there, too, laughing, smiling and talking about the show as most women around the country are.
“That was probably my favorite thing together,” Ngodu said.
It sounds like this team had been together for a season or two, like last year’s Big 12 Championship team was back and ready
