CHARLESTON – U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito said that she is still awaiting more details from a memorandum of understanding between President Donald Trump and Iran setting up a 60-day ceasefire, but she said the Senate should have final authority on any agreement.

Kump Center to host annual fundraiser

ELKINS – One of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Kump Education Center will take place on Saturday during the annual Pie Auction at the historic Kump House.

Body found with missing man’s vehicle

ELKINS — A body was found alongside the vehicle belonging to a Tucker County man who has been missing in Randolph County for more than a week, officials report.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement regarding the “significant discovery” of a body, along with the vehicle of James Hedrick, 82, who has been missing since June 8.

Girl Scouts helping with library fundraiser

ELKINS – A small but enthusiastic group of girls, ages 10 to 11, from Girl Scout Troop 10142 are partnering with the Bookhounds, a Friends of the Library organization, to raise funds for the Elkins-Randolph County Public Library.
The girls are helping to advertise, promote, and implement a donation drive and used book sale at the shuttered old library located at 416 Davis Avenue.
