BBC apologizes to Trump for editing speech

LONDON (AP) — The BBC has issued a public apology to President Donald Trump over a misleading edit of his speech on Jan. 6, 2021, but said it “strongly disagreed there is a basis for a defamation claim.”

Teaching kids resilience, not fear

Dear Annie: My 12-year-old son has always loved playing soccer. He is not the most talented kid on the field, but he works hard, listens to feedback and truly enjoys being part of a team. Unfortunately, his new coach seems to have taken all the joy out of it.
From the first practice, this coach has been harsh, sarcastic and impatient. He yells at the kids for small mistakes, plays favorites and benches others for reasons that do not make sense. My son has gone from running out the door with

Small oddities or one-off “glitches” rarely happen in total isolation. They’re usually tiny signals of a larger pattern. Some patterns show themselves quickly, while others take a long time to repeat before you recognize them. As Mercury enters psychically aware Scorpio, don’t dismiss a weird moment. It may be the first echo of something bigger.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Some state their rules like stop signs: “I won’t do X, I don’t want Y.” You take a more creative approach, offering ideas

NEW YORK (AP) — Researchers reported two promising new approaches to counteract malaria’s growing resistance to medication — one involving a new class of drugs.
Switzerland-based Novartis released results of what it called a next-generation treatment. A study of its experimental drug in 12 African countries found it works well against the mosquito-borne parasite that causes malaria and seems to block spread.
The drug, called GanLum, is not yet licensed and more than a year away from being

Horoscope

As the sun forms lucky trines with Jupiter, and then Saturn, it’s time to ask what your goal is really about. It’s not what you want but why that matters. Wanting recognition may mask a wish to be seen as lovable. Wanting success may mask a wish to feel safe and free. Name the unconscious wish so you can decide whether to pursue the outer goal or meet the inner need more directly.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Sometimes you want to pull back from social life entirely, and that’s normal. It can be

Tigers put up valiant effort in playoff loss

HUNTINGTON — The Elkins High football team put up a valiant effort in Saturday’s setback to Spring Valley.
But the sixth-seeded Timberwolves never allowed the 11th-seeded Tigers a chance for a late comeback by keeping control of the ball the final 6 minutes of regulation to escape with a hard-fought 13-10 victory and advance to the Class AAA quarterfinals.
All the game’s points were scored over the first two quarters.
It appeared a high-scoring game was in the works, however, when Spring Valley
