(AP) — The Colts became mistake-prone. The Packers wasted opportunities. The Lions got pushed around. The Chiefs fell out of a playoff spot.
Both conference leaders looked ordinary Sunday and other top teams had rough games.
The NFL looks more wide open every week.
Even some winning teams struggled along the way to victory.
The Chargers let the lowly Titans hang around in a one-score game. The Jaguars needed to stop a 2-point conversion to secure an overtime victory over the Raiders. The Broncos

Dodgers celebrate becoming first repeat WS champ in 25 years

TORONTO (AP) — In a World Series for the ages that went back and forth again and again, Will Smith delivered the biggest swing of all for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Smith connected in the 11th for the first extra-inning homer in a winner-take-all title game, and Miguel Rojas became the first player to hit a tying home run in the ninth inning of a Game 7. Steelers defense forces six turnovers in win over Colts

PITTSBURGH (AP) — The Pittsburgh Steelers tuned out the noise and turned back the clock.
Unfortunately for the Indianapolis Colts, so did Daniel Jones.
The Steelers harassed Jones and the AFC-leading Colts into six turnovers in a 27-20 victory on Sunday that provided a reminder that when at its best, Pittsburgh’s star-laden defense can create a unique brand of chaos.
Smarting from a forgettable stretch in which they were lit up in consecutive weeks in losses to Cincinnati and Green Bay,

Fox stepped up at QB in WVU’s win at Houston

MORGANTOWN — There are only a handful of true freshmen starting quarterbacks in the country, and even less who are slightly successful. An even smaller number have a ranked win, and probably three have a ranked win on the road.
West Virginia is one of the very few schools that have a true freshman quarterback to win a ranked game on the road this year. Scotty Fox Jr. led the Mountaineers to a 45-35 upset win over No. 22 Houston on the road in his third start of the season.
“Our freshman

Horoscope

Today’s Scorpio sun and Pisces moon fold the calendar into spirit time. The veil thins; saints crowd the air with memory. On this day in medieval Europe, people baked “soul cakes” for beggars, who promised to pray for the dead. Bells tolled to comfort souls in purgatory. Food was left outside for wandering spirits. A paradox: Honoring the dead tends to sharpen the pulse of the living.

Colts cruise past Bees, 52-14

PHILIPPI — Landyn Carpenter rushed for 209 yards and two scores and Philip Barbour’s defense limited East Fairmont to just 177 yards of total offense in a 52-14 victory Friday night at George Byrer Field at Freedom Bank Park.
Carpenter went over 1,000 yards rushing on the season on the Colts’ first play of scrimmage as the junior raced 70 yards to make it 7-0 after first of seven successful extra-point kicks by freshman Ayden Thorne.
That set the tone for the remainder of the half, as Tyler
