Ella Margaret Moore

Ella Margaret Moore, of Buckhannon, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Holbrooks Health Care in Buckhannon. When the Lord called, she was ready, and at the age of 91, she went home to be joyfully reunited with her husband and family members who went home before.

(AP) — Saquon Barkley’s first season in Philadelphia featured record performances on the field, a Super Bowl title and a new contract that is the richest ever for a running back.

William ‘Bill’ Gail Conrad

William “Bill” Gail Conrad, 87, a resident of Mill Creek, passed from this life Sunday morning, July 13, 2025, at the WV Caring Inpatient Center where his family provided physical and emotional support during his final days.
Bill was born Monday, June 13, 1938, in Pickens, a son of the late Ordie Conrad and Agnes Geyer Conrad Light. On Dec. 23, 1958, in Mill Creek, he was married to the former Zita Levon Rader, who survives. They had celebrated 66 years of marriage.

Harman man facing federal drug charge

ELKINS — A Randolph County man is facing up to 40 years in prison on a federal drug charge.
Jacob Paul Wilson, 28, of Harmon, has admitted to distributing more than five grams of methamphetamine, officials said.
According to court documents, Wilson was selling methamphetamine from his home in Randolph County.
Wilson faces at least five years and up to 40 years in federal prison.

Employee charged with embezzling from Elkins Kroger store

ELKINS – An employee has been arrested and charged with embezzling funds from a local supermarket.
Tammy Michelle Hefner, 38, is charged with one count of felony embezzlement and 22 counts of fraud with access device.
She is being held in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $2,862 cash-only bond set by Randolph County Magistrate Ben Shepler.

Man sentenced for Barbour stabbing murder

PHILIPPI – A Grafton County man accused of fatally stabbing a woman in 2023 entered a plea agreement on a first-degree murder charge and was sentenced to life in prison with mercy on July 11.
Brian Edward Kennedy, 46, appeared in Barbour County Circuit Court and entered a guilty plea to one count of murder in the first degree in the death of Megan Shaw, 45, in 2023.
