Neil Eugene White

Neil Eugene White, 85, of Buckhannon, West Virginia, left this life peacefully, Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family to begin his eternal life in Heaven.
Mr. White fought a hard battle with pulmonary disease and chronic respiratory failure butakept his faith to the end in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He was born Jan. 10, 1941, in Adrian, West Virginia, a son of the late James Harold and Ruth Norman White.
He is survived by his soulmate, Linda Ward White, of

After refusing a subpoena to appear before the House Oversight Committee and only after it became clear the committee that includes several Democrat members would vote to hold them in contempt of Congress, Bill and Hillary Clinton announced they would give sworn depositions concerning what they know about the convicted sex offender, the late Jeffrey Epstein.

D&E student addresses Rotary

ELKINS — Davis & Elkins College student Chiebuka Soribe addressed the Rotary Club of Elkins, giving the group information about an internship opportunity he is exploring.
Soribe is a junior from Silver Spring, Maryland, who is majoring in English with a minor in film. He is a member of the men’s Lacross team and serves as vice president of communication for the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. Area under multiple weather watches and warnings

ELKINS – Upshur, Barbour and parts of Randolph and Pocahontas counties are under a Winter Storm Warning from 10 a.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Saturday.
The National Weather Service states in the Warning alert that heavy snow is expected, with total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches, and higher amounts possible along the western ridges. Wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph are possible in the highest elevations.

The Elkins City Council meeting scheduled for tonight has been canceled, city officials announced.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Trump administration is reducing the number of immigration officers in Minnesota but will continue its enforcement operation that has sparked weeks of tensions and deadly confrontations, border czar Tom Homan said Wednesday.
