Hints From Heloise

Stains on
napkins are memories
Dear Heloise: I am a 75-year-old woman who enjoys setting a pretty table for special holidays, and I like using cloth napkins on such occasions. I have no biological children but frequently entertain nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. Usually, most of them set the cloth napkin (which is secured in a holiday-themed napkin ring) aside for fear of staining it.
This past Thanksgiving, I asked then to “humor me” by actually removing the napkin ring,

The position is not quite so dangerous as it is sometimes said to be, but can only be put right if the curve not only rises sharply but

NEW YORK (AP) — Luigi Mangione spoke out in court Friday against the prospect of back-to-back trials over the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, telling a judge: “It’s the same trial twice. One plus one is two. Double jeopardy by any commonsense definition.”

Hints From Heloise

Using up old Christmas lights
Dear Heloise: To get more use out of discarded Christmas lights, I place a strand in a decorative container and leave them on at night as a night light. This is helpful when walking into a dark living room or kitchen during the night. —Edna G., in Houston
GREASE STRAINER
Dear Heloise: Having a grease can in the freezer is a great idea for containing grease; however, my method is quicker (and I have no room to spare in the freezer).
I bought a grease strainer. It

Horoscope

A relationship that causes you to continually override your own instincts and feelings is not sustainable. Work that offers you relief only when you sleep or dissociate is abusive. ARIES (March 21-April 19). You will be remarkably efficient and complete a task in record time, mostly because you have to. It’s nice to know
