No need for fear of AI

ChatGPT is coming for your job.
That’s the fear about the rapid advances in artificial intelligence.
In a headline the other day, Axios warned of a “white-collar bloodbath.” The CEO of the artificial intelligence firm Anthropic told the publication that AI could destroy half of all entry-level white-collar jobs in the next one to five years and drive the unemployment rate up to 10-20%, or roughly Great Depression levels.
This sounds dire, but we’ve been here before. In the 1930s, John Maynard

He shot 70 in the final round and turned a decent duel into another runaway.
He wound up winning by four shots over Ben Griffin.
That makes Scheffler the first back-to-back winner at Memorial since Tiger Woods.
Lately his game has looked a lot more like the tournament host Jack Nicklaus.
Scheffler now has won three of his last four

RAFAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — At least 31 people were killed and over 170 were wounded Sunday as large crowds were on their way to receive food in the Gaza Strip, health officials and witnesses said. Sweden’s Stark wins U.S. Women’s Open

ERIN, Wis. (AP) — Maja Stark has lost her confidence heading into the U.S. Women’s Open.
Her decision to stop worrying about that sparked her to the biggest title in women’s golf.
The 25-year-old Swede shot an even-par 72 on Sunday and stayed ahead all day. Her four-day total of 7-under 281 at Erin Hills left her two strokes ahead of top-ranked Nelly Korda and Japan’s Rio Takeda.
“I think that I just stopped trying to control everything, and I just kind of let everything happen the way it

Reader explains why she’s a Democrat

Yes, I’m a Democrat and proud of it. You don’t hear those words much these days, and to be affiliated with the party of JFK, Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden is not popular in West Virginia right now. I’ve been called a “lib,” a “bleeding heart,” and other names I will not mention, but that’s OK. Ultimately, I know I’m on the right side of history.
In case you’ve forgotten, the afore-mentioned former Presidents have been responsible for such transformative measures
