Respiratory vaccine guidelines now available in West Virginia

No. 8 WVU bests No. 6 Georgia Southern, 2-0 to stay atop the Sun Belt

Water truck rollover claims life in Monongalia County

FAIRVIEW, W.Va. — The driver of a water truck died Saturday evening when the truck overturned in western Monongalia County.
A Monongalia County Sheriff ‘s Department Facebook post said the wreck happened at the intersection of Crossroads Road and Klondike Road in Fairview.
“Our thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones affected by this tragic event,” the sheriff’s department said. “We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation.”

Legislative interim committee meetings begin Sunday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — State lawmakers will be in Charleston for monthly interim committee meetings Sunday through Tuesday.
Members of the House and Senate are scheduled to take part in more than two dozen meetings.
Two meetings scheduled for Sunday will focus on education.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A popular concert series in Morgantown continues to grow.
The Ruby Summer Concert Series, hosted by the Hazel Ruby McQuain Charitable Trust and the City of Morgantown, had good numbers again this year.

Legendary archer Byron Ferguson has died. The news spread Friday night and Saturday morning among archery enthusiasts on social media.
Ferguson travelled the world performing his instinctive shooting shows and demonstrating his command of the long bow to crowds large and small. He was also a regular on shooting and outdoor television shows and videos.

Emergency demolition order issued for partially collapsed building in Fairmont

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Authorities have declared an emergency and plan to demolish a partially collapsed building on Adams Street.
The City of Fairmont has declared the structure at 200 Adams Street an imminent danger due to the location, condition and potential threat to public safety.
It will be torn down soon.
No injuries were reported when a significant portion of the vacant building collapsed Friday at around 1:30 a.m.
In response, the city closed that portion of Monroe Street and it remains
