Epstein’s accusers grapple with complex emotions about promised release of files

(AP) — For Marina Lacerda, the upcoming publication of U.S. government files on Jeffrey Epstein represent more than an opportunity for justice: Lacerda says she was just 14 when Epstein started sexually abusing her at his New York mansion, but she struggles to recall much of what happened because it is such a dark period in her life.
Now, she’s hoping that the files will reveal more about the trauma that distorted so much of her adolescence.

Diana Sue (Rohrbaugh) Vance, 72, of Petersburg, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025.
Diana’s family will receive friends on Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Maysville Cemetery.

DOMINATING PERFORMANCE

PHILIPPI — Philip Barbour turned in one of the most dominating performances in school history on Friday night to punch its ticket to the Class AA state semifinals.
The third-seeded Colts (10-2) took advantage of five first-half turnovers from No. 11 Clay County in rolling to a 69-7 win in front of the large crowd assembled at George Byrer Field at Freedom Bank Park.
It was a school record for points scored for Philip Barbour in its first-ever quarterfinal home game.

100th Birthday

Lewis Tingler, a resident of Wymer, will celebrate his 100th birthday on Dec. 13.
He was born in Whitmer on Dec. 13, 1925, a son of the late Ted and Ethel Elza Tingler.
From eight years old until he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, he resided with his grandparents, Salem and Maxie Elza, on their farm located near Whitmer. He said his favorite chore was taking care of the animals.
As the Great Depression continued, he joined the CCC Camp. During his time in the CCC, he helped to build
