Child neglect case to move forward

ELKINS — A Randolph County grand jury will hear the case of a Randolph County woman accused of hitting multiple parked cars while having an infant in the front seat after she waived her right to a preliminary hearing this week.
Cynthia Ann Meek, 31, is charged with one count of child neglect creating risk of serious bodily injury, a felony. She is currently being held at the Tygart Valley Regional jail on a $25,000 cash-only bond.

Tractor Trailer Collides With Car

Two people were sent via helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown on Tuesday after a wreck on US 48 West in Upshur County, near the intersection of WUBC Road. According to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office, a tractor trailer collided with a car. New Greenbrier agreement questioned by lender

Randolph County schools to dismiss two hours early

ELKINS – Randolph County Schools will be dismissing school two hours early today due to potential flooding and high water.
The announcement was made at 11:25 a.m. on the school district’s Facebook page.
The Randolph County Office of Emergency Management announced at 11 a.m. today that Old Route 219 (Parsons Road) in the Montrose area of the county is currently closed due to high water.

Barbour to dismiss schools early due to potential flooding

PHILIPPI – Due to weather conditions and the potential for flooding in parts of the county, Barbour County Schools will dismiss two hours early today, officials said.
“The safety of students and staff remains the top priority at Barbour County Schools. Please use caution while traveling and allow extra time as buses may experience delays on some routes due road conditions and high water,” a social media post from Barbour County Schools stated this morning.
