Victim shot in the face in Kanawha County

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. — A man is recovering from a gunshot wound to the face in St. Albans.
Kanawha County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to a home in the 12000 block of Coal River Road just after 9 p.m. Monday. They found the victim conscious, alert, and able to speak. He was also able to walk to the ambulance according to investigators. The victim’s condition is not known.
Authorities said the suspect fled the scene before they arrived. Although deputies canvassed the area in a search, so far

I-79 South in Kanawha County closed following crash

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. –A crash has shut down Interstate South Monday evening in Kanawha County.
The closure was reported near the 16 mile marker in Clendenin.
First responders say an SUV rolled over and a secondary crash that involved a tractor trailer was reported shortly after 5 p.m.
A man was hospitalized for injuries suffered in the crash, but his condition is not known. The tractor trailer was hauling steel coils and had its front wall ripped off.

‘Bring Them Home’ fund focusing on out-of-state placements takes another step

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced a bill intended to address Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s goal of bringing foster children who have been placed in out-of-state treatment facilities back to West Virginia.
