FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A Detroit man is charged in a Fairmont shooting death.

Fairmont police said in a Monday evening news release that Brandon Vaughn, 34, is in custody after the Sunday shooting of Billy Wooten III.
Wooten, of Fairmont, was found Sunday morning at around 8 o’clock on McKinney Street. Witnesses said the shooting left the scene in a silver car.

Residents in some of the hilly sections of Charleston were concerned, probably scared, when they started seeing high water Sunday during during a torrential downpour.
Those living on Garrison Avenue, Sugar Creek, along Greenbrier Street, not far from West Virginia International Yeager Airport, saw small creeks turn into runoff and their streets turn into creek beds.
