PSC to hold public comment hearing on proposed increase rates made by two major electric companies

CHARLESTON, W.Va. –The Public Service Commission of West Virginia is seeking public input on Appalachian Power and Wheeling Power’s proposed increase in Expanded Net Energy Cost (ENEC) rates.
The commission has scheduled a comment hearing that can be attended either virtually or in person, to be followed by an evidentiary hearing on the company’s proposed $71.6 million-dollar annual increase in ENEC rates made by the company.

Three historic structures removed from National Park Service’s proposed demolition list following ongoing environmental assessment

Best Virginia continues to thrive, but stresses no moral victories ahead of semifinal against Eberlein Drive

Another delegate speaks out regarding the withholding of money used for community initiatives

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Funding grants for local community needs are continuing to be put on pause for some state legislators as more delegates speak out.

Woman killed in Mason County fire

POINT PLEASANT, W.Va. — A woman injured in an early morning fire in Mason County has died.
The fire broke out in the 2700 block of Lincoln Avenue in Point Pleasant around 7 a.m. According to fire department officials an adult female was rescued from the burning home with injuries. She was taken to Rivers Health Regional Health Center in Point Pleasant, but later died of her injuries.
Her name has not been released.
The West Virginia State Fire Marshal is investigating a cause. Authorities
