Two arrested on narcotics warrants in Morgan County

MORGAN COUNTY, W.Va. — Two people are facing charges after they were arrested on warrants in Morgan County.
Timica Johnson, 25, and Keesha Davenport, 28, were arrested by police Monday following a traffic stop that was conducted by Morgan County Sheriff Department.
Both individuals were taken in on narcotics distribution warrants. After the two were arrested an additional warrant was executed on their house on 90 Goff Street in Berkeley Springs.
Upon investigation, police seized cocaine base

Election filing deadline this Saturday

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The filing deadline for the May Primary Election is this Saturday at 11:59 p.m..

“Please don’t wait until the last minute to file your candidate Certificate of Announcement,” Secretary of State Kris Warner said in a news release this week.
Those candidates are able to file in person at the WVSOS office at the State Capitol, or either regional offices in Clarksburg and Martinsburg.

Goodwin asks for patience as storm recovery continues

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin says every storm presents its own set of challenges and that’s the case for the Capital City after the weekend storm.

That patience begins with the most basic of services like garbage pick-up. Goodwin said the transfer station is closed because of the weather.

Emergency school funding bill is in line for a longer, broader look

Study: WVU, WVU Health System account for 17 percent of state GDP

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A survey completed by a national consulting firm reveals the economic impact of West Virginia University and the WVU Health System equals about 17 percent of the state’s gross domestic product.
