Superintendent: Musselman High teacher on administrative leave following criminal charges

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Berkeley County School Superintendent Ryan Saxe released a statement Wednesday evening regarding the arrest of a staff member at one of their schools.
Saxe said officials were made aware of serious allegations against Musselman High School teacher Hunter Reed. He was placed on administrative leave. Police have now charged him with soliciting a minor by other means than a computer.

Roane County Board of Education holding public hearings on proposed closure of schools, consolidation of students

ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. –Two Roane County schools are once again at risk of closure, with students possibly being consolidated into nearby schools.
The Roane County Board of Education has proposed closing Walton Elementary/Middle School and Geary Elementary School. The proposal also calls for consolidating kindergarten through fifth-grade students into Spencer Elementary School, sixth through eighth-grade students into Spencer Middle School, and pre-K students from both schools into the space

High school students get glimpse of CAMC careers at healthcare showcase

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Around 1,600 students from several different counties were bussed to the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center Wednesday to take part in CAMC’s annual Career Healthcare Showcase.
CAMC employees set up over 40 themed booths to show students the many pathways and programs offered in their area.
“We are showing them that there are careers in West Virginia. They don’t have to move out of state,” said Lauren Lane, a CAMC employee who helped organize the showcase.

WVU Health to use $28 million gift for children’s hospital to address care needs in pediatric clinics

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The president of the WVU Health System says a $28 million gift to WVU Medicine Children’s will help save lives.
