WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, Riddell initiate groundbreaking football helmet program

FARMINGTON, W.Va. — A partnership between the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and football helmet manufacturer Riddell will use the best helmets available and a data tracking system to improve safety for middle and high school tackle football programs in Marion County.

Judge moves ahead with hearing on religious exemptions to vaccines early next month

A Raleigh County circuit judge is moving ahead with courtroom consideration early next month of how West Virginia’s religious freedoms law affects school vaccination requirements.
In doing so, Judge Michael Froble is setting aside a request to pause action for state Supreme Court review while also absorbing a Kanawha County case focusing on the legality of an executive order by Gov. Patrick Morrisey on the vaccine issue.

Second woman files civil suit claiming to have been abused and assaulted by Kanawha County bailiff

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A second woman has come forward and claimed to have been repeatedly abused and sexually assaulted by a court bailiff in Kanawha County while in custody awaiting court hearings.

Trial date set in long-delayed fatal hit-and-run case, defendant appealing federal sentence

CHARLESTON, W.Va – A new trial date is set in the case of a man accused in a fatal hit and run while fleeing police that has been delayed numerous times over the last five years.

Trial for Texas man accused in Learfield employee murder set to begin this week

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The Texas man accused in the murder of a Learfield/Mountaineer Sports Properties employee will go on trial in Morgantown this week.
Jonathan Ramirez (WVRJA)
Jonathan Ramirez, 24, of Watauga, Texas, allegedly killed Jacob Lough in his Milford Street apartment in January 2024 and was indicted by a grand jury for first-degree murder, burglary and grand larceny.
Morgantown Police Chief Eric Powell previously said a co-worker went to check on Lough, but could not get inside. He
