Delegate backs teacher’s push for Bible elective in West Virginia school district

MINGO COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Delegate Henry C. Dillon is voicing strong support for a Mingo County teacher’s effort to introduce a Bible-based elective course in local schools.
Dillon, a Republican representing District 29, said he endorses a petition started by Eric Starr, a social studies teacher at Tug Valley High School.

Driver crashes into West Virginia Dairy Queen drive-thru after crossing median

ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Webster Springs man sustained minor injuries Thursday after deputies say his pickup left the roadway, crossed a median, and crashed into the Dairy Queen drive-thru on the Midland Road area of Randolph County.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy L. Elbon was patrolling the area on November 14 when he saw a white Chevrolet Silverado drift off the right side of the road while traveling south through the Walmart intersection.

West Virginia man arrested after threatening spouse with gun over $100K moved to account amid meth use

PUTNAM COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Garth Anthony Mariani, of Hurricane, has been charged following a domestic incident at a residence on Oakbridge Drive in Putnam County on November 15, 2025.
Authorities say the incident involved a firearm and suspected methamphetamine.

Man sentenced to 18 months for federal firearm charge in West Virginia

HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Columbus, Ohio, man has been sentenced to a year and a half in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm.
Douglas Lee Brown, 56, also known as “Wiggles,” received the 18-month sentence on November 17, 2025. He will also serve three years of supervised release.
