Motorists have new rules, procedures for WVU campus parking in Morgantown

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Motorists who plan to use West Virginia University parking lots this year will have a new policy to comply with.
Drivers must register accurate license plate information in the WVU Parking Portal by Sept. 1.
License Plate Recognition (LPR) Technology is being used by the Parking Management team that will enable them to use cameras installed on patrol vehicles to scan license plate information to ensure the vehicle has a permit or has paid short-term parking.

Martinsburg officials talk county impact fees, pensions, Greenway Trail and fraudsters

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — How will Berkeley County proposed Impact Fees impact the City of Martinsburg?

Suspect arrested in Barbour County fire

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — An Upshur County man is behind bars facing charges of setting fire to a home in Barbour County earlier this month.
The West Virginia State Fire Marshal announced the arrest of Bricen Siron, 20, of Upshur County. He’s charged with first degree arson for the fire at a house in the Volga community of Barbour County on Saturday August 9th.
Investigators said the fire destroyed the home which was abandoned. They were able to determine the fire was set deliberately.

New security camera system in place as Kanawha County Schools open Friday

CHARLESTON, W.Va — When schools open in Kanawha County on Friday, the county’s new security camera system will get its first test after significant upgrades were installed over the summer.

Some lawmakers say they were kept mostly in the dark on the sale of 4 state hospitals

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Members of the legislature say they were surprised to hear Gov. Patrick Morrisey announce at a news conference earlier this week that the state had sold four long-term care facilities to Marx Development Group.

Suspect in last week’s home invasion and shooting was already wanted

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Kanawha County investigators have released additional information in connection with a shooting from last week near Cross Lanes.
The suspect in the case is identified as Joshua Duff, 35, of Mount Zion, W.Va. which is in Calhoun County. Woman indicted in veterans benefits fraud case

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Federal prosecutors have accused a Bridgeport woman of multiple fraud counts in relation to veterans benefits.
Christina Nolte, 42, has been indicted for one count of theft of public money, property, or records; three counts of making false statements; and one count of student loan fraud.
