Department of Education to host inaugural Farm to School Conference

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The state Department of Education is ready to host the first-ever Farm to School Conference that will involve educators, farmers and students from across the Mountain State.

Brandonville Solar project raises efficiency questions in Preston County

BRANDONVILLE, W.Va. — The state Public Service Commission is accepting public comments on the proposed Brandonville Solar project that, if approved, could be operational by late 2027.

Brandonville Solar is a division of sustainable energy producer, Enel North America headquartered in Andover, Mass. They have about 850 workers that manage similar operations in the United States and Canada that produce about 12 gigawatts electricity.

Court case explores basis of West Virginia National Guard deployment to D.C.

On August 11, President Donald Trump declared a “crime emergency” for the District of Columbia, and five days later Gov. Patrick Morrisey deployed members of the West Virginia National Guard for support.
The president’s emergency declaration, which placed the Metropolitan Police Department under federal direction, expired after 30 days, Sept. 10. Yet the West Virginia National Guard deployment remains active and could be in effect through the end of November or beyond.

Two teams having entirely opposite seasons to this point clash at noon Saturday inside TDECU Stadium when West Virginia takes on 22nd-ranked Houston.
