Park officials open new aerial tram at Pipestem Resort State Park

PIPESTEM, W.Va. –A brand-new aerial tram is now up and running at Pipestem Resort State Park, offering guests an exciting new way to take in the park’s scenic views.

West Virginia Supreme Court is poised to hear vaccinations exemptions case, but not yet

The state Supreme Court is preparing to review any intersection between West Virginia’s religious freedom law and its mandatory school vaccination law — but not until at least early next year.

GLEN JEAN, W.Va. — The Spartan Trifecta World Championship event will be held on U.S. soil for the first time in history this weekend, and it will be within the mountains of Fayette County.

Sheriff said Ronceverte attack was a “vendetta”, but it’s not clear why

LEWISBURG, W.Va. — The Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department believes an attack, which turned into a murder and malicious wounding this week, may have been a vendetta, but what it was about is still very unclear.

PEIA’s latest finances are solid, even as special session remains possible

The Public Employees Insurance Agency is doing all right.
The agency’s financial trends have been stable, officials said during a regular update. The big concern is a factor too big for PEIA to control on its own: the universal trouble of increasing costs for medical care and prescription drugs.

I-68 crash slows traffic

BRUCETON MILLS, W.Va. — Multiple agencies responded to a single vehicle accident at mile marker 17 of I-68 eastbound Thursday morning.
First responders were called to the scene at 11:23 and found a vehicle pulling a gooseneck trailer went off the right side of the road and hit an embankment.
The slow lane of the interstate remained closed for an extended period for the investigation and clean up.

Testimony begins in trial of teen accused in tobacco shop murder

CHARLESTON, W.Va – Testimony is underway in the trial of Barack Williams, the teenager charged with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in the incident that resulted in the shooting death of tobacco store clerk Caden Martin.
Martin was shot and killed during the robbery by Bre’juan Williams-Hampton, the other teenager charged in the case who pleaded guilty last year, and prosecutors say Williams acted as a lookout at the Tobacco and Vape store on 7th Avenue in Charleston.
