Delegate Daniel Linville, who recently lost in the primary election, has submitted his legislative resignation and cites new opportunities ahead.
“A new opportunity to continue this work has been brought to me — one which requires that I resign the Office of Delegate of the 22nd District,” Linville, R-Cabell, wrote in a letter addressed to House Speaker Roger Hanshaw.
Linville did not specify the opportunity.

ARMSTRONG CREEK, W.Va. — A Fayette County driver apparently survived an initial wreck into a creek before making contact with a live power line claiming his life.
Fayette County Sheriff Jess McMullen said the wreck occurred Sunday evening on Armstrong Creek Road.
Witnesses told deputies the man got out of his wrecked vehicle that had overturned in the creek and then made contact with a downed power line.
