Wyoming County teen charged with domestic assault following family dispute

WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An 18-year-old man from Glen Fork is facing a domestic assault charge after a family dispute escalated into a violent outburst, authorities say.
According to a criminal complaint, deputies responded to a residence in Glen Fork on June 4 after receiving a 911 call from a concerned parent.

Fayette County Man Arrested at Gauley River Camp for Animal Cruelty

GAULEY BRIDGE, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A man wanted on an outstanding warrant was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon at a campsite along the Gauley River — and now faces additional charges for animal cruelty.
According to law enforcement, Sgt. Simmons, along with Cpl. S. Milam, S/Tpr. J. Stewart, and Natural Resources Police Officer J. Deeds, arrested Scotty Lee Stone around 1 p.m. on June 4 in Fayette County.

Cell phone fees set to increase in West Virginia starting in July

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — Starting July 1, West Virginia cell phone users will notice a higher charge on their monthly bills.
The state’s Wireless Enhanced 911 (WE911) fee is increasing from $3.64 to $4.01, the Public Service Commission of West Virginia (PSC) announced Thursday.
In addition to the base WE911 fee, customers will continue to pay an 8-cent wireless tower fee and a 29-cent public safety wireless fee, bringing the total monthly charge to $4.38 per wireless line.

WVU Robotics Team takes second place in international Mars rover competition
