Wyoming County man faces kidnapping, burglary charges following armed domestic incident

WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man is facing multiple felony charges following an armed domestic incident Tuesday morning that authorities say involved a woman being taken from a residence against her will.
According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Tyler Sizemore was contacted by the Wyoming County 911 Center around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22, regarding a reported physical domestic incident in the Oceana area.

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Democratic Party is calling on Republican House of Delegates candidate Chris Clagett to withdraw from the race for District 91 following scrutiny of comments he made on social media.

Child dies after being struck by vehicle on U.S. Route 60

SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 12-year-old child has died after being struck by a vehicle in South Charleston Monday night, according to city police.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of MacCorkle Avenue, also known as U.S. Route 60, and Rock Lake Drive.
The child later died from injuries sustained in the incident.
Additional details, including the circumstances surrounding the collision, have not been released.

Driver accused of tossing suspected fentanyl during Wyoming County pursuit

WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A driver allegedly fled a traffic stop on Route 97 and threw a bag of suspected fentanyl from her SUV before stopping on Rocky Ridge Road.
According to a criminal complaint, a deputy attempted to stop the eastbound SUV after noticing its registration had expired in May 2026. The driver accelerated, turned onto Rocky Ridge Road and continued driving after the deputy activated emergency lights and a siren.

Man wanted in Jackson County found hiding behind bushes after Oak Hill foot chase

OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man wanted on a Jackson County warrant was arrested Friday after allegedly running from an Oak Hill police officer and hiding behind bushes in a resident’s yard.
According to a criminal complaint, an officer spotted Tyler Eugene Foster near Main Street and Highlawn Avenue at approximately 6:21 p.m. September 18. The officer recognized Foster from previous encounters and knew he had an active warrant.
Police said Foster ran when the officer attempted to contact him.

Woman arrested after 76-year-old beaten with lawn chair in Mercer County, deputies say

MONTCALM, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman was arrested after a 76-year-old resident was allegedly punched, struck with a folding lawn chair and dragged from a porch onto a driveway Sunday night.
