West Virginia lawmaker proposes Harpers Ferry National Park land swap for CBP training center

HARPERS FERRY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Congressman Riley M. Moore has introduced legislation that would authorize a land transfer between U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the National Park Service (NPS), paving the way for a long-awaited expansion of the CBP Advanced Training Center (ATC) in Harpers Ferry.
The bill would transfer 25 acres of currently unusable NPS land to CBP in exchange for 72 acres of CBP property, removing the final obstacle to expanding the ATC’s training

Man arrested following burglary at Fayette County tobacco shop

MONTGOMERY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 21-year-old man from Virginia was arrested Friday night following a burglary at a local tobacco shop.
According to Fayette County authorities, officers responded to a 911 call just before midnight reporting a burglar alarm at the Mr. Smoke Tobacco Shop on Third Avenue in Montgomery.
