Trump dismisses intelligence that Saudi prince was likely aware of killing of journalist

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Tuesday dismissed U.S. intelligence findings that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman likely had some culpability in the 2018 killing of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi as Trump warmly welcomed the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia on his first White House visit in seven years.
The U.S.-Saudi relationship had, for a time, been sent into a tailspin by the operation targeting Khashoggi, a fierce critic of the kingdom.

Carolyn ‘Sue’ Howell Shreve

Carolyn “Sue” Howell Shreve, 78, a resident of the Stalnaker Run Road Community, Elkins, West Virginia, departed this life Saturday morning, Nov. 15, 2025, at the WVU Medicine United Hospital Center at Bridgeport, West Virginia. She had been in declining health for the past two years.

Roblox steps up age checks and groups younger users into age-based chats

(AP) — Roblox is stepping up its age verification system for users who want to chat with other players and implementing age-based chats so kids, teens and adults will only be able to communicate with people around their own age.

Return of the Elves

ELKINS — In preparation to help transform Elkins into Elfkins, members of Our Town Inc. spent this past Saturday morning placing an array of painted wooden elves along several downtown city streets.
Close to 40 wooden elves were anchored to poles on Davis Avenue, Third Street and Railroad Avenue.

Motion to rescind Harman School closure dies at BOE meeting

ELKINS – A Randolph County Board of Education member made a motion at Tuesday evening’s BOE meeting to rescind the Oct. 8 vote to close the Harman K-12 School, but the motion died for lack of a second.
After 27 community members spoke during Tuesday night’s meeting urging the board members to rescind the Harman vote, BOE member Ed Daniels made a motion to bring the Harman School situation up for discussion. After several minutes of silence, BOE member Janie Newlon seconded the motion.

PRO officer coming to Upshur school after community members raise concerns

HODGESVILLE — A new full-time Upshur County Sheriff’s Office deputy will be assigned as a PRO officer at Hodgesville Elementary School after an Upshur County man who allegedly made threats against the school’s students was released as part of a deferred adjudication agreement.

BBC apologizes to Trump for editing speech

LONDON (AP) — The BBC has issued a public apology to President Donald Trump over a misleading edit of his speech on Jan. 6, 2021, but said it “strongly disagreed there is a basis for a defamation claim.”
Over the past week, the BBC’s director general stepped down, its head of news quit, and Trump says he’s poised to file a billion-dollar lawsuit.
“We’ll sue them for anywhere between a billion and $5 billion, probably sometime next week,” Trump said.

W.Va. officials praise wetlands bill action
