Barbara Ann Dawson, age 85, of French Creek, WV, died Friday, June 27, 2025, at her home. She was born on July 14, 1939, in Frametown, WV, a daughter of the late John Benton and Ollie Roverta Young McLaughlin. On August 6, 1960, she was united in marriage to George S. Dawson who preceded her in death on March 31, 2022. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Maxine Cutright and Roberta “Bert” Hefner and one brother James Ernest McLaughlin. She is survived by

Patricia Anne “Tetty” Linger, age 92, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 23, 2025. She was born on June 20, 1933, to the late Oral B. and Joy Lewis Starkey. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Huelin Cecil Linger, who preceded her in death just three months ago. Also, two brothers: Andrew Donald (Iona) Starkey and James O. Starkey and two sisters: Carolyn Lee Smallridge and Lavina Jeane Starkey preceded her in death.

Goldie Jean Thrasher Evans, 84, a lifelong resident of Tucker County, West Virginia, and more recently a resident of Cumberland, Maryland, departed this life early Sunday morning, June 22, 2025, at the Cumberland Healthcare Center in Cumberland, Maryland. She had been in declining health.
She was born Monday, June 2, 1941, at Cumberland, Maryland, a daughter of the late Wilber “Webb” Thrasher and Mildred Marie Auvil Thrasher.

Michael “Mike” Carpenter, age 79, of the Alexander Road, French Creek, died Saturday, June 21, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon. He was born on March 26, 1946, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Sullie and Retha Virginia Gooden Carpenter. He is survived by his longtime companion Lisa Rodriguez; two sons: Don Carpenter and Gary Carpenter and wife Tonya, both of French Creek, daughter-in-law Hope Suder; three grandchildren: Heather, Autumn, and Kandi Carpenter; two step grandchildren:

Lucille J. Mallow, 79, of Bartow, West Virginia, passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Chapel in Arbovale, with Pastor Julian Rittenhouse officiating. Burial will follow in the Arbovale Cemetery Annex.

CLARKSBURG — Mario Francesco Oliverio, 80, of Bridgeport, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown.
Born on April 2, 1945, in San Giovanni in Fiore, Italy, he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Rosa Ruggerio Oliverio. A devoted husband, he was married to Mary Ann Belcastro Oliverio on January 3, 1981. She survives him at their home in Bridgeport.

Catherine Mae “Kate” Shreve Teter, 93, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center.
Kate was born Tuesday, Nov. 17, 1931, in Huttonsville, a daughter of the late Forrest R. Shreve and Addie R. Rosencrance Shreve. On Dec. 22, 1965, she married Robert K. Teter, who preceded her in death.

Mr. Michael Allen Pharis, 64, a resident of Belington, departed this life Wednesday evening, June 18, 2025, at his home. Death was following a period of declining health.
