CLAY COUNTY, W.Va. — The Clay County Commission has sent a letter to the Public Service Commission of West Virginia requesting an investigation of Black Diamond Power Company.

WHEELING, W.Va. –A Wheeling man was arrested after an alleged crime spree early Wednesday morning.

Louis David Smith III, 43, faces three felony charges including attempted robbery, attempted burglary, and third-offense domestic battery.
According to police, they responded to 19th Street around 1:52 a.m. to a woman saying that Smith attempted to assault her and steal her vehicle on Peninsula Street.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Meteorologists with the National Weather Service say residents in northern and eastern sections of West Virginia could see their first frosts of the season during the next two nights.

The NWS has issued a frost advisory for all or parts of Taylor, Upshur, Barbour, Webster, Randolph, Pocahontas, Hancock, Brooke, Monongalia, Preston and Tucker counties from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday.
Temperatures are expected to dip to 32 degrees or below.

ELKINS, W.Va. — Sex crime charges against an Elkins pastor are heading to a grand jury for consideration.

A Randolph County magistrate decided Tuesday there’s enough evidence to forward the charges against Kevin Curtis Jones, 33, of Elkins.
Jones has been in jail since Oct. 2 when he was charged with allegedly using a computer to solicit an underage girl. Authorities said Jones, at that time the pastor at Summit Church, used a phone to seek a “clandestine relationship“
