CHARLESTON, W.Va. –The West Virginia Division of Highways has released more lane closures as the overlay project continues on the Eugene A. Carter Memorial Bridge in Charleston.
Beginning on October 20, both right lanes will be closed in both east and west from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. while concrete patching work continues. BEAVER, W.Va. –An investigation is underway following reports of an incident at the Federal Correctional Institution Beckley Friday.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons, multiple inmates were involved in “several altercations” at FCI Beckley. They stated that the incident was contained and isolated by employees and there was no threat to the public.

FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — It’s set to be a packed Fayette County Saturday for the annual bridge day festivities.
North of 300 base jumpers will launch themselves from atop the New River Gorge Bridge and parachute to the ground below.
While gathering on the bridge and watching the jumpers is the main attraction, Fayette County Chamber of Commerce spokesman Tim Naylor says there is something for everyone.

SCOTT DEPOT, W.Va. — There will be no widening project on busy Teays Valley Road in Putnam County.
The state Division of Highways announced Friday that it is cancelling the project after it proved to be “divisive among local residents and business owners.”
