State Police ask for help in identifying traffic fatality victim

ELKINS — Police are asking for help in identifying the body of a woman involved in a fatal wreck in the Mill Creek area Saturday morning.
The West Virginia State Police’s Elkins Detachment is requesting assistance, saying in a press release that at approximately 2 a.m., a motorist traveling along Back Road in the Mill Creek area struck an object lying in the roadway, initially believed to be a deer.

State police seek help in identifying woman’s body

MILL CREEK, W.Va. — State police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman’s body found in the middle of a road in Randolph County.
Troopers said a driver was traveling on Back Road near Mill Creek early Saturday morning when he struck what he thought was a dead deer.
The driver stopped and called 911. When first responders arrived they determined it was the body of a woman who was dead.
Troopers said she had identification on her and they’ve been unable to determine who she is.

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS) announced that the ongoing federal government shutdown is causing delays in the issuance of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
