The League of Women Voters West Virginia is siding with the state Board of Education in a lawsuit over who has the final authority over education regulations — saying a new law giving that power to the Legislature defies the will of the voters.

GLEN FORK, W.Va. — Community members in the area of Oceana are in deep sadness over the loss of a mother and her son in a house fire.
Sue Ellen Workman and her son Easton Workman perished in the flames. The two were found after the blaze at their home in an area of Wyoming County called Turkey Dip. The location is near the Oceana city limits and close to Glen Fork Elementary School.
Easton was a student at the school. Grief counselors were on hand Friday to help classmates deal with the pain.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A staple of WEPM’s Sunday morning lineup has passed away.
Rev. Robert Lee White of Kearneysville was 94 when he passed away last Sunday, Oct. 26.
Rev. Robert White preached on WEPM for 58 years.
In February, he announced he was preaching his last sermons on his  Way of Life  broadcast after 58 years on the air.
