CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Over the course of time, the late Dick Cheney made several trips to West Virginia. Most of those visits were on behalf of Republican candidates seeking higher office. He visited Charleston in 2002, 2003, and 2004 for fundraising events for then West Virginia Second District Congresswoman Shelley Moore Capito.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Christmas Cash For Kids kicked off its 20th season Monday in Martinsburg.
The donation-driven effort helped 366 families last year, including 714 children across Berkeley, Morgan and Jefferson counties have a brighter Christmas.

WESTOVER, W.Va. — Westover City Council has voted unanimously to install Deputy Chief of Police Scott Carl as the next chief.
Carl joined the department in May 2021 when the department was battling serious problems with the public brought on by federal civil rights lawsuits.
Former chief Joe Adams joined the department in October 2020 and served for five years.
