SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. –A crash is causing delays on Interstate 64 westbound Thursday evening.
The wreck was reported around 5:30 p.m. at the Montrose Drive exit. Traffic is currently being directed off the exit and emergency personnel advises drivers to avoid the area if they can. Police say a tractor trailer was involved and is leaking sulfuric acid.
There is now word on when the interstate will be back open.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia AFL-CIO has re-elected President Josh Sword.

Sword was unanimously re-elected to a four-year team this week during the AFL-CIO’s 31st Constitutional Convention in Charleston.
Sword has served as president since 2017. He was re-elected to second term in 2022. Before being elected president, Sword served as secretary-treasurer from 2013-2017.

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. — A former school bus driver in Putnam County was sentenced Thursday in connection with a crash with 28 students on board.
Amy Allen was sentenced to three years of probation on a six-month suspended sentence. In September, Allen pleaded guilty to one count of reckless driving causing serious bodily injury.
With her plea deal, prosecutors dismissed 28 counts of child neglect creating risk of injury and 23 counts of driving under the influence
