CHARLESTON, W.VA – For its 84th year, Charleston’s annual Veterans Day parade stepped off on Tuesday morning, recognizing those who have served the country in the military over the decades.
The parade is put on each year by the John Brawley American Legion Post 20 and this year included marching bands from several local high schools, the George Washington High School JROTC, local officials, and numerous local veterans. Post Commander Tommy Wingo said that the parade has a clear goal each year.

NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. — Work to dewater the Rolling Thunder Mine where a miner remains unaccounted for continues.
Governor Patrick Morrisey released an update Tuesday indicating the rescue team has been able to pick up the pace of pumping water out of the mine. The dewatering is now at a rate of 6,000 gallons a minutes which is significantly higher than earlier with more pumps now on site.

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Around 40 people were on hand Monday night as the PEIA Finance Board brought its public hearing to Martinsburg.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The state Department of Health says the makers of a baby formula are doing a voluntary recall.
A recall was announced Saturday by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of certain lots of powered infant formula made by ByHeart.
The recall follows a multistate outbreak of infant botulism. There have been 13 cases in 10 states. None have been reported in West Virginia.

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The final construction beam is in place for the new WVU Eye Institute, expected to open in 2027.
