CHARLESTON, W.Va. — State leaders reacted Thursday to the news of the death of coal miner Steve Lipscomb.
Lipscomb, 42, of Elkview, a shift foreman, died in the Rolling Thunder Mine in Nicholas County. His body was located Thursday morning. Mine owner, Alpha Metallurgical Resources, said he was last seen helping those on his crew get to safety when a large amount of water entered the mine last Saturday.
