FAIRVIEW, W.Va. — Three miners were hurt in a collision at the Loveridge Coal Mine in Fairview Wednesday morning.
Reports indicate two pieces of machinery collided at 9:42 this morning injuring three miners, two are being treated at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The miners were transported with unspecified injuries by the Marion County Rescue Squad.
The incident comes less than a week after the body of mine foreman Steve Lipscomb was pulled from the Rolling Thunder Mine in Nicholas County.

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a head-on crash involving a DOH dump truck and an SUV that happened in Cross Lanes Wednesday afternoon.
The collision took place at about 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Goff Mountain Road and Brick Lane.
First responders said the driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries. The DOH truck showed heavy front-end damage.
Traffic was slowed in the normally congested area.
Deputies are continuing their investigation.

WHEELING, W.Va. — City council has approved $75,000 from its opioid settlement funds for Life Hub and the Salvation Army to provide additional temporary housing for the homeless.
The Tuesday night vote followed a long discussion.
Wheeling Councilwoman Connie Cain said the city needs to continue to deal with the homeless issue.
“We have to worry about what we have now,” Cain said. “If we don’t we’re going to be like California that nobody can get around nowhere because of so many people.”
