MARTINSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 29-year-old man was shot and killed by deputies Sunday morning after reportedly attacking a Berkeley County Sheriff’s deputy with a hatchet, according to the sheriff’s office.
The incident began around 7:41 a.m. on October 5, when deputies responded to a report of a missing person identified as David Edward Browne, who had last been seen the night before after leaving a bonfire at his home.

State police said Charity Holstein, 39, died Tuesday afternoon after losing control of the car she was driving in the Rock Creek area.
Troopers said the car left the highway and was on its side in a creek when emergency personnel arrived.
A man riding with Holstein survived the wreck. He was taken to a Charleston hospital after suffering minor injuries.
State police are continuing an investigation into the crash.

by WV MetroNewsMOSSY, W.Va. — The northbound lanes of the West Virginia Turnpike reopened early Wednesday morning after a 12-vehicle pile-up in Fayette County that stalled traffic for about five hours.
The wreck was first reported at a few minutes after 10 p.m. Tuesday two miles north of the Mossy exit. It involved passenger vehicles and tractor trailers.
The highway reopened at around 3:40 a.m.
