Ohio murder suspect arrested in Preston County

MASONTOWN, W.Va. — A man wanted for a murder in Ohio was arrested in Preston County Wednesday.
Members of the US Marshals Service Mountain State Fugitive Task Force with assistance from multiple agencies arrested Waymon Donat in the 1200 block of Cales Road in the Masontown area without incident.
Donat, 19, is accused of shooting and killing another person in a shootout in Cleveland in April of this year. Investigators said Donat fired the deadly shot as he was fleeing from the armed

Randolph BOE votes to close Harman, North schools

ELKINS – The Randolph County Board of Education voted Wednesday night to close the Harman K-12 school and North Elementary School.
At the end of a three-hour-plus hearing, the BOE voted 4-1 to close Harman, and 5-0 to close North. BOE member Ed Daniels cast the sole vote against closing Harman.
Many residents spoke during the hearing in favor of keeping the schools open. The BOE voted at 9 p.m., and the hearing ended immediately afterward.
