House committees quickly bring up pieces of economic development agenda

Members of the House of Delegates jumped right in to work on the chamber’s economic development priorities.

The first of two winter shots moves through Thursday

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The latest dose of winter weather should move out of the region by late Thursday afternoon in time for the next weather maker Friday into Saturday.
National Weather Service Meteorologist Bill Modzelewski said the Morgantown area can expect about 1 inch of snow during the day Thursday as temperatures continue to fall. The temperatures will settle into the low 20’s Thursday with a low in the evening of 17 degrees.

Career Marion County political leader dies

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — An elected official who served in both major parties from Fairmont has died.
Paul Prunty
Paul Prunty died Sunday surrounded by his family after a long illness.
Prunty served 11 terms in the House of Delegates from 1972 to 2000 representing Marion and Taylor counties. He was elected seven times as a Republican and four times as a Democrat.
When he retired in 2002, state lawmakers passed a resolution naming the Northbound I-79 bridge over the Tygart River the “Paul E. Prunty

WV GOP gives the Democratic Party a lifeline
