HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A disturbing assault is under investigation after a man was reportedly attacked, strangled, and beaten inside his own home on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
At approximately 6:45 p.m., a deputy responded to a residence following a call about an assault. The victim stated the incident occurred around 5:00 p.m. when he was awakened in his bedroom by approaching footsteps. Upon opening his eyes, he saw two suspects — Randy Peters and Tasha Spurlock — standing in his room.

Man Arrested After Brutal Domestic Assault at Greenbrier County Gas Station

GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A routine call to a domestic disturbance turned serious on Saturday, May 10, 2025, when state police arrested a man accused of violently assaulting a woman earlier that day.
At approximately 3:55 p.m., a trooper responded to a report from Greenbrier County EOC about a disturbance outside the Marathon Little General Store on Seneca Trail North. Witnesses said a man was yelling and cursing at a woman as she exited a gray four-door vehicle to enter the store.

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Lincoln County fisherman has set a new state record for black crappie, according to the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR).
Jerry Porter of Harts, caught a 3.6-pound, 17.7-inch black crappie on May 7 at East Lynn Lake in Wayne County. He used a minnow-tipped jig and a 6-pound test line.

WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is facing charges after giving a false identity and obstructing law enforcement near the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport on Friday.
