Fayette County’s Denece Dial named West Virginia School Human Resource Official of the Year

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Association of School Human Resource Officials (WVASHRO) has named Denece Dial as the 2025 Gregory Bailey West Virginia School Human Resource Official of the Year.
The award, established by the Bowles Rice law firm in memory of education law attorney Greg Bailey, recognizes a school human resource official who has distinguished themselves in personnel administration and contributed to public education and the community.

Logan County brothers sentenced to federal prison on major drug charges

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two brothers from Bruno were sentenced to federal prison November 6 for trafficking large quantities of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other drugs in southern West Virginia, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
On November 6, 2025, Timothy Ray Gravley, 42, was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by five years of supervised release for possession with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of a mixture containing fentanyl.

Federal judge dismissed indictments against Letitia James and James Comey

(LOOTPRESS) – A federal judge dismissed the indictments against former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James on Monday.

TSA prepared for busy Thanksgiving travel, offers special packing tips

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at West Virginia International Yeager Airport (CRW) is prepared for a busy Thanksgiving travel period. Bankruptcy Filings Rise 10.6% Nationwide, Marking Third Consecutive Year of Increases

WASHINGTON, D.C. (LOOTPRESS)  — Personal and business bankruptcy filings climbed 10.6 percent in the twelve-month period ending Sept. 30, 2025, according to new data released by the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. The increase marks the third straight year of rising bankruptcy activity following a decade-long decline.
In total, 557,376 bankruptcy cases were filed during the period, up from 504,112 filings recorded the year before.
