CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — Former West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice and his wife, Cathy Justice, have agreed to pay more than $5 million in long-standing federal tax liabilities following a settlement with the Internal Revenue Service, according to newly filed court records.
The settlement was finalized on Nov. 24 — the same day the lawsuit was filed — in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, documents reviewed by USA TODAY show.

Virginia State Police seek missing high school coach facing child pornography charges

VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – Virginia State Police are searching for Travis L. Turner, 46, of Appalachia, who is wanted on multiple child exploitation charges.
Turner, the head football coach at Union High School, faces five counts of possession of child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor. Additional charges are pending, authorities said.

Permit issued for Kanawha solar project

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia issued a certificate Monday to permit a solar power project in Kanawha County.
Mammoth Solar, LLC filed an application on June 30 and asked for a waiver of a hearing on the project. The Commission staff agreed with the application.

BERKELEY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 34-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.
