CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On Monday afternoon, West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey provided an update on Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe of the West Virginia National Guard, who was shot by an Afghan national in Washington, D.C., last Wednesday.
Governor Morrisey stated that Wolfe remains in serious condition as he continues to fight for his life at a Washington, D.C., hospital. He added that Wolfe has been responsive to commands to move parts of his body.

November General Revenue Fund Collections Exceed Estimates by $28.5 Million, Up 10.5% from Prior November Receipts

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Department of Revenue reported strong numbers for the month of November, with a $28.5 million surplus and collections up 10.5% from the previous year.
“I’m encouraged by the growth trends in recent months that contribute to our FY 2026 surplus,” said Governor Morrisey. “West Virginia will continue making fiscally conservative decisions to capitalize on this growth and prepare for any budget challenges ahead.”

VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the capture of Union High School head football coach Travis Turner, who is wanted on multiple felony charges.

Beckley man accused of sexually abusing two girls and a boy for years

BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Beckley man is accused of sexually abusing three children over the years.
According to the West Virginia State Police, James Anthony Vannatter, of Beckley, was arrested last week on charges stemming from sexual abuse, sexual assault, incest, and the use of obscene material.
Troopers say that the exact years of sexual abuse are currently unknown, but they can go back as far as August 2018.
