Man Charged After Violent Assault in Trailer Park Threatens Woman’s Life

OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A terrifying domestic incident unfolded on the morning of May 8, 2025, when Gary Curtis Tilley allegedly attacked a woman on the roadside between Shorts Trailer Park and Lower Fords Trailer Park—threatening to kill her and beating her to the ground.
Around 9:18 a.m., 911 dispatchers at WCERC received a call about a physical domestic disturbance. According to reports, Tilley fled into Shorts Trailer Park after the incident, while the victim made her way to Lower Fords.

New law requires electric utility reporting

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The state’s major electric utilities have been directed by the Public Service Commission of West Virginia to explain on how they interact with the nation’s largest electric power grid.
The order issued Friday to Appalachian Power Co. (APCo), Wheeling Power Co. (WPCo) and Monongahela Power Co. (Mon Power) comes as a result of legislation signed into law on April 30 by Gov. Patrick Morrisey. The legislation is part of the microgrid program promoted by the governor.
