SHADY SPRING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Lee Dean, a field representative for WV Secretary of State Kris Warner visited Shady Spring High School (SSHS) in Raleigh County last Monday to present the school and the student body with the prestigious Jennings Randolph Award for civic engagement.
Initiated by the WV Secretary of State’s Office in 1994, the Jennings Randolph Award for Civic Engagement commemorates West Virginia’s late U.S. Senator Jennings Randolph’s legacy as the “Father of the 26th Amendment.”

West Virginia man charged in fatal crash that killed two children

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MD (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia man has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly crash last month that killed two children and injured six others.
Aaron Levert Croom, 24, was taken into custody on May 22. He is facing charges of involuntary manslaughter, according to the U.S. Park Police.

McDowell County Sheriff’s Office issues arrest warrant for Wyoming County teen

MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office has issued an active arrest warrant for 18-year-old Dakota Nathaniel Steele in connection with a shoplifting incident at Newberry’s Food and Fuel.
Authorities believe Steele is currently residing in the Brenton area of Wyoming County.

Raleigh County woman charged in alleged theft of air conditioning units

RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman from Raleigh County has been charged with felony grand larceny following the reported theft of three air conditioning units valued at over $9,000.
According to a criminal complaint filed in Raleigh County Magistrate Court, Augusta Ardella Chapman was identified as a suspect after authorities tracked a stolen air conditioning unit using an Apple AirTag device.
