U.S. Mint Releases Candidate Designs for 2026 Semiquincentennial $1 Coin Featuring Donald Trump

WASHINGTON, DC (LOOTPRESS) – The U.S. Mint has unveiled a series of proposed designs for the 2026 Semiquincentennial $1 Coin, offering the public its first look at artwork being considered for the nation’s 250th anniversary commemorative currency.
As part of the Semiquincentennial (SemiQ) Coin and Medal Program, the Mint published downloadable line-art images showcasing potential designs for both the obverse and reverse sides of the special-edition coin.

Dangerously Cold Temperatures Expected Across Region

WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) -The National Weather Service has issued a series of Cold Weather Advisories and an Extreme Cold Warning across portions of West Virginia, Virginia, and North Carolina, warning residents to prepare for potentially dangerous wind chills beginning early Sunday and lasting through Monday morning.

Forecasters say temperatures combined with strong winds could push wind chills well below zero, creating hazardous conditions for anyone without proper protection.

Winter Storm Warnings and Advisories issued across West Virginia for weekend snow

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The National Weather Service has issued multiple winter weather alerts for West Virginia as a significant snow system is expected to impact the state from Saturday into Sunday, bringing accumulating snow, hazardous travel conditions, and very cold air.

One person dead following crash on U.S. Route 60

CABELL COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A portion of U.S. Route 60 in the Ona area of Cabell County was closed late Thursday night following a deadly single-vehicle crash, according to the West Virginia Division of Highways.

Fayette County man pleads guilty to federal drug charges

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man has pleaded guilty to federal drug distribution charges following an investigation that uncovered significant quantities of illegal drugs and a firearm.
