Montgomery Man Charged After Alleged Shower Attack and Knife Threat

MONTGOMERY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Montgomery man is facing multiple charges after allegedly spraying his girlfriend in the face with a shower head and later brandishing a knife during a domestic disturbance Thursday evening.
On July 31, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Lt. Huffman with the Montgomery Police Department responded to a residence on 4th Avenue in Fayette County following a report of a domestic incident.

West Virginia ends Fiscal Year 2025 with $338.5 million surplus

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia closed the books on Fiscal Year 2025 with a $338.5 million year-end surplus, according to a release from Governor Patrick Morrisey’s office.
The surplus includes a $254.8 million surplus from General Revenue Fund collections, $49.2 million from prior-year surpluses and unappropriated balances, and $34.2 million in year-end General Revenue Fund appropriation expirations.

BARBOUR COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Barbour County woman is facing serious charges after crashing her vehicle and allegedly resisting arrest while under the influence near Pleasant Creek Shooting Range.
On July 24, 2025, Deputy A.D. Williams with the Barbour County Sheriff’s Office responded to a single-vehicle crash with entrapment on Pleasant Creek Road. At the scene, deputies found Jenny Lynn Haddix as the sole occupant of the wrecked vehicle.

ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A former federal prison employee has admitted to smuggling methamphetamine into a West Virginia correctional facility in exchange for thousands of dollars.
