CHARLOTTE, NC (LOOTPRESS) — A sitting member of the Charlotte City Council, Tiawana Brown, 53, has been indicted by a federal grand jury alongside her two daughters in a scheme to fraudulently obtain more than $124,000 in COVID-19 relief funds, federal prosecutors announced Thursday.

Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program Vouchers Now Available in West Virginia

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Vouchers for the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) are now available to eligible seniors across the state through their county senior services. The SFMNP is a federally funded initiative that provides low-income seniors with access to fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey from authorized farmers’ markets and roadside stands.

HUNTINGTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Huntington mother was arrested Tuesday morning on child neglect charges after police discovered concerning conditions during a welfare check at her residence.

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS)  – The Public Service Commission of West Virginia has scheduled a virtual and in person public comment hearing and an evidentiary hearing for June 17 on a $250.5 million rate increase filed last year by Appalachian Power Co. and Wheeling Power Co.

West Virginia drug dealer sentenced for selling powerful synthetic opioid

CLARKSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Marion County man has been sentenced to more than nine years in federal prison for selling a powerful synthetic opioid in northern West Virginia.
