City of Princeton Announces Parade to Celebrate Princeton Tigers Football Team

PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) — The City of Princeton is excited to announce a celebratory parade honoring the Princeton Tigers Football Team for their outstanding season and many accomplishments, including their AAA Football Championship title.
The championship parade will take place on Sunday, December 21, at 5:30 p.m. and will travel along Mercer Street. The parade will begin at 8th Street and conclude at the Park Avenue and Center Street intersection, adjacent to the Princeton Public Library.

More than 82,000 without power across West Virginia after overnight storms

WEST VIRGINIA (LOOTPRESS) – More than 82,000 customers across West Virginia were without electricity as of 6 a.m. Friday following a strong line of storms that moved through the state overnight, according to data from PowerOutage.com.
The outage tracking site reported 82,728 customers without power statewide out of more than 1 million customers monitored.

Coal miner dies following accident at Wyoming County mine

WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey expressed condolences following the death of a coal miner at the Lower War Eagle mine in Wyoming County.

Auditor’s Public Integrity and Fraud Unit Investigation Leads to Embezzlement Conviction Involving Wetzel-Tyler Board of Health

CHARLESTON, WV – The West Virginia State Auditor’s Office announced that Marsha Ann Carse, 63, of Paden City, has entered a guilty plea to the felony offense of embezzlement in Tyler County Circuit Court, following an investigation by the Auditor’s Public Integrity and Fraud Unit.

West Virginia to begin automatic LIEAP application mailings in January 2026

CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS) announced it will begin automatically mailing applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) starting January 5, 2026, marking the official start of the new LIEAP season.
According to DoHS and its Bureau for Family Assistance, the automatic mailing is intended to help ensure timely access to heating assistance for some of the state’s most vulnerable residents.
