Trump administration to issue full SNAP benefits while appealing court order

(LOOTPRESS) – The Trump administration told states on Friday that it will begin issuing full Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, even as it continues to appeal a federal court order requiring the payments.
U.S. District Judge John McConnell ordered the administration on Thursday to ensure full SNAP benefits are delivered by Friday.

One person injured following collision involving Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office cruiser

SAINT ALBANS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office cruiser was involved in a two-vehicle collision Friday in St. Albans, according to information released by the sheriff’s department.
The crash happened at the intersection of Kanawha Terrace and Walnut Street. Officials say the deputy who was driving the cruiser was not hurt.
The driver of the second vehicle reported minor injuries and was taken from the scene for medical evaluation.

Two people arrested after man stomps on child’s leg breaking it

LOGAN COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two adults have been taken into custody following an investigation into suspected child abuse involving an 11-month-old child, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Troopers identified the individuals as Brandon Jones, 31, and Raven Damron, 30. Investigators say the incident occurred while the child was in their care during an unsupervised visit.

Shooting between two brothers leaves one dead by police in Mercer County

ROCK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An armed standoff in Mercer County ended Thursday morning with one man dead and another injured following a shooting between two brothers in Rock.
According to the West Virginia State Police, the incident began around 9:35 a.m. when Mercer County 911 received a report of a shooting on Rock Road. Traffic delays expected Sunday for utility work on U.S. Route 460

BLUEFIELD, VA (LOOTPRESS) – Appalachian Power will conduct utility work on Sunday, Nov. 9, that will result in rolling traffic stops along Route 460 between Bluefield and Tazewell, Virginia.
