BUCKHANNON — An Upshur County man faces felony and misdemeanor charges after allegedly entering a laundromat after hours and stealing around $100 from a quarters machine, as well as being found with methamphetamine on his person later on.
George Washington Foster, 44, is charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of entering without breaking, both felonies. He is also charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine, a misdemeanor. Foster is currently being

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The House of Delegates passed a three percent pay raise for state troopers, teachers and school service personnel Thursday.

The pay raise under HB 4765 will average about $1800 for those three groups of workers including about $1500 for teachers and $900 for school service personnel.
State law requires lawmakers to pass bills for pay raises for those three groups of workers because their salary schedules are in state code.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. –State Division of Highway officials have begun meeting with stakeholders to plan the upcoming deck replacement on the Eugene A. Carter Memorial Bridge on Interstate 64 through Charleston.
The bridge deck replacement follows several potholes that required emergency repairs during the summer of 2025, causing significant travel delays.
On Wednesday, the DOH met with the Federal Highway Association, city of Charleston, and city of South Charleston, where they discussed the project
